The downfall of my healthy eating habits is today. It’s Chinese Thursday at work. And I don’t get to work out tonight to make me feel better about eating it. I did try to go a bit healthy...chicken and broccoli, with wonton soup instead of an eggroll. Do you know how many calories are in that thing? I didn’t till I looked it up. Also Genera Tso's used to be my one of my favorite dishes till I looked up the calorie content. Shit!
A co-worker and I had an interesting talk about chocolate yesterday. Most women love chocolate. They just can’t say no. I on the other hand, can. And I do so quite often. If you spread out an array of chocolate in front of me, I will pick the white chocolate 100% of the time – I know, white chocolate isn’t ‘real’ chocolate, but let’s skip over that a moment. Dark chocolate I wouldn’t go near. Funny because an old co-worker piped in (the discussion now moved to Facebook), and said she was the complete opposite. She too is not a big fan of chocolate like me, but she would pick the dark chocolate if she had to pick from a variety in front of her…that got me thinking about how my taste buds have changed quite drastically. It was only about 4 years ago that I loved chocolate of all kinds (except dark chocolate). I also hate peanut butter. Can’t stand the smell of it – makes me gag. The taste of it makes me gag too. but…when I was younger…I ate PB&J sandwiches all the time…best after school snack ever.
So what happened? What do I enjoy now that come a few years from now won’t appeal to my taste buds anymore?
